The William Taylor Memorial Heartland Short Story Competition

The “Heartland 1000 competition” has been renamed in memory of William Taylor, who gave freely of his time and advice to help establish Taumarunui Writers’ Group and this competition.

For the 2016 competition year the details are:

• First prize $300
• Up to 750 words in any fiction genre on any theme
• The competition is nationwide
• Closing date, September 30.
