We all tend to fall into the trap of limiting our forum reading to our own. That is to say, since we are Proofreading and Editing people, we only look at the PAE forum, especially as we have such an active forum. But the institute teaches many courses, most of which are aimed at improving writing in all its glorious forms – fiction and non-fiction, novels and short stories, journalism in various specialties, poetry, and children’s books.
Recently the tutor for the Journalism students has started posting little quips and quizzes, mostly about grammar, but one recently about homonyms. It’s worth taking a look, and whilst you’re at it – look at some of the other forums too. You may be pleasantly surprised.
