    Bloopers

The following terms are used for bloopers that will sometimes pop up in your writing. They creep in easily if you are not vigilant. It is worth knowing what they are so you can avoid them.

    1.Tautology

    2.Dangling modifiers

    3.Squinting modifiers

I’d never heard of the last two until I read this.  Oh dear, maybe I’ve been dangling and squinting all over the page for years!  Having just done a spot of research, I now know what they are.  I could see what was wrong with the grammar in the examples; it’s just that I didn’t know they had such interesting names.   Thanks for this Jill, this is great.

I have always been captivated by those names, although generally speaking I am not big on writing terms as they often befuddle me.
