“I submitted a photograph of a local monument to the Big Day Out competition. I managed to be placed in the top four for the month. It was fun. My photo is now on the website advertising the Rotorua Art Gallery.”  Paul Nicholas, Whangarei.

“It has always been my dream to have my own successful photography business. Handing in the final assignment for my NZIBS Photography course took me one step closer to achieving this dream.”

Lisa Monk

“My photography business, Lisa Monk Photography, specialises in portraits of children. I am building a studio at home in Cockle Bay, Auckland. I started by photographing my Coffee Group friends to build my business portfolio. I’ve now photographed most of our Coffee Group babies. Next, I plan to offer my services to other Coffee Group mothers in our area. I have also marketed myself to local day care centres, kindergartens and schools. I mention my photography business in conversation to the people I meet because everybody needs great family photographs. I figure everyone I meet is a potential client. Business is coming along nicely.”  Lisa Monk – Portrait Photographer, Cockle Bay.

“Taking pictures is something I have loved doing for years. I have learned so much through this course and I will always be grateful for this opportunity to learn more. Thank you Tutor for your very constructive feedback and encouragement, even when my photos were not so good. I loved getting my assignments back from you.”  Janne Sergison, Christchurch.
